Video Summary:
This is the WDR broadcast of Metallica's performance at Rock Am Ring, 2006. Video quality is excellent. One of the things I really like about this show is that it was shot in 16:9 (widescreen) format. There are a couple of things to note about my version of this show. The first is that I have split the dual layer disc version into two discs. The second is that I have esentially "forced" this show to playback in letterbox format no matter where you play it. The source I was sent was playing full screen on my TV and everything looked squished. My only complaint on this show is the Wayne Isham-ish editing (very fast cuts, ala the San Diego Live Shit video) and the "creative" use of blurring things at random.
Audio Summary:
I included livemetallica.com audio on this version, which sounds very nice. The original broadcast audio was also good, but for some reason the bass drum was very hard to hear. Both audio sources can be selected on this version.
